Frequently asked questions
How often should I do cupping?
Maintenance/Wellness: I recommend every 3–4 weeks.
Chronic Pain/Recovery: 1–2 sessions per week for a short period, then reducing frequency as improvements occur.
Athletes: 1–2 times per week during intense training.
Women's health: one week before your period or during the week of your period.
Fertility support: varies based on your plan with me.
I also offer a dedicated Fertility Support pathway: learn more on the fertility page.
What are the marks left on the skin?
Cupping marks are temporary, often painless, and a fun result of your cupping. In Traditional Chinese Medicine: marks are signals of stagnation, Qi, heat, cold, or toxins in the body. Each color represents an imbalance and I can help you assess your marks.
Does cupping hurt?
Cupping should not hurt. Cupping can feel like a trigger point but should never hurt. I'll always connect with you during your session to see how the cups are feeling and if you want more or less pressure.
Does facial cupping leave marks? I don't want marks on my face
Facial cups are different from body cups. Since our facial skin is more sensitive and fragile, facial cups do not leave marks. So rest assured your face will be markless.
What duration of session should I choose?
15 minute sessions: for smaller areas like shoulders
30 minute sessions: For medium areas like back, shoulders and neck.
60 minute sessions: for full body lymphatic release or areas of acute imbalance.
